Saint-Honore (Quebec)
Saint-Honore is a municipality of the Quebec (Canada) in the regional Municipalité of county of the Fjord-of-Saguenay the, located in the administrative area of the Saguenay-Lake-Saint-Jean.
Administration
Marie-Luce Martin is the current mayor. The advisers are: Martine Tremblay, Guylaine Tremblay, Laurent Tremblay, Raymond-Marie Case, Elect Gauthier and Jimmy Tremblay.
Municipal chronology
St-Honore saw his territory increased with the fusion of part of the territory of the municipality of the Tremblay Canton. Known in the past like Saint-Honore-Martel , the municipality now bears the name of Saint-Honore-with-Chicoutimi .
Economy
The saving in Saint-Honore rests on the agricultural production and mine. The Niobec mine is the only mine of Niobium in exploitation in North America. The only production of this mine makes so that Canada is the second producer of this metal in the world, preceded only by Brazil.
Saint-Honore also has on its territory an airport built during the Second world war.
Education
Saint-Honore has two elementary schools and a campus of CÉGEP of Chicoutimi dedicated to the teaching of aviation.
