Saint-Gervais is a common French, located in the department of the Gard and the area Languedoc-Roussillon. Its inhabitants, Saint-Gervaisiens and Saint-Gervaisiennes are 679. Saint-Gervais is at the edge of Cèze. This village is served by the Secondary Road 980.

Geography

History

With the the Middle Ages, Holy Gervais, was created, in round, around its church (of which the foundations are of XIe century, even 9th) and of its strong house of XIIIe century which became a castle in 1607. An old explosives magazine and barracks point out this past where the inhabitants themselves were to ensure their safety. The royal troops made stage in the commune.

Several Roman villas and factories left beautiful vestiges in the plain. Tombs sarrasines and wisigothic evoke old migrations.
