Saint-Germain island

The island Saint-Germain is a island located on the the Seine. It belongs to the commune of Issy-les-Moulineaux, in the department of the Hauts-de-Seine.
A long time army ground, the Saint-Germain island becomes, with the beginning of the year 1980, a departmental park of 18 hectares.
At the base of this old military waste land, this park was refitted in the years 1990, at the time of the awakening of an environment to preserve.

This island is divided into two parts:

  • an urban side including/understanding of the offices and the residences, primarily of the houses and the houses of artist and architects. One also finds with the point of the island of the working gardens managed by an association of users.
  • a side more recent park divided into two parts, the north-eastern part including in particular the Tower with the Figures of Jean Dubuffet, the central part of the island being occupied by wild/natural garden which evolves/moves at the rate/rhythm of the seasons and which makes the good share with the biodiversity.

Downstream from this island the island Seguin is, whose influence Renault is in the course of disaffection.
