Saint-Germain - - Arpajon is a common French, located in the department of the the Essonne and the area Île-de-France.

Its inhabitants is called Germinois.

Geography

The commune is located at 27 Kilomètre S in the south of Paris, accessible by RN20, and with 20 kilometers in the north of Étampes. The commune is crossed by the Orge and the Rémarde. Its name made up of Saint-Germain, the which means close to and Arpajon, indicates that it is located very close to Arpajon.

It is accessible via the line C from the RER (Gare of Norville - Saint-Germain-the-Arpajon).

History

Dependence of the châtellenie of Montlhéry at the 13th century. Seigniory of the Graville at the 16th century, of the Noailles at the 18th century.
