Saint-Forget is a common French, located in the department of the Yvelines and the area Île-de-France.
The inhabitants are the Féréoliens and Féréoliennes .
Geography
Saint-Forget is a small commune of the South of Yvelines, located at 30 km of Paris. It is a rural district without any tradesman. It belongs to the Regional natural park of the High-Valley of Chevreuse.Saint-Forget is made up of three hamlets:
- Mesnil-Sevin, on the plate between the Mesnil-Saint-Denis and Chevreuse, the hamlet most important by its number of inhabitants,
- High-Beauce, the almost contiguous one to Dampierre-in-Yvelines, where seat the town hall,
- Fine sands, on the road between Dampierre-in-Yvelines and Chevreuse
The communes bordering are Saint-Lambert in the North-East, Chevreuse in the east, Choisel in the south on hardly 100 Mr., Dampierre-in-Yvelines of the south in the west and the Mesnil-Saint-Denis in the North-West.
The commune is crossed by the secondary road D58 which connect Dampierre-in-Yvelines, in the west, Chevreuse and the secondary road D906, in the east, as by the secondary road D91 which connects Dampierre-in-Yvelines to Neighbors-the-Bretonneux and Versailles towards north. The latter is considered, particularly in the world of the Cyclisme, to be, on the territory of Saint-Forget, the road of the 17 turnings, commonly called coast of the 17 turnings insofar as the cyclists must assemble it!
The commune is easily accessible since the capital thanks to the RER B to the Gare from Saint-Rémy-the-Chevreuse to 8 km. The Station of the Canopy, also 8 km makes it possible to reach Paris in less than 40 minutes in direction of Defense or Paris-Montparnasse.

- the church Saint-Ironwood, also called vault Saint-Gilles , date of the 12th century and refitted with 14th then at 17th and finally at the end of the 18th century. It is surrounded by its cemetery in the medium of which one finds a martyrdom of XVe century out of sandstone, restored in 2006, which presents 4 carved faces. The southern vault conceals a whole of medieval paintings exceptional, discovered in 2003, in the course of restoration. These paintings represent scenes of New Testament and life of the saints.
- Roman ancient Ruins near Mesnil-Sevin, on the Ridge-Round.
- the castle of Mauvières, at the origin house seigneuriale, date mainly of 17th and 17th centuries. At the 15th century, following the War One hundred Year old, Ramond of the River of Martigne is seen offering by the Duc of Anjou, the stronghold of Mauvières to have begun again the city of Bergerac to the English in 1450 and becomes lord of Mauvières and Bergerac. In 1582, the field becomes the property of the grandfather of the musketeer-writer Cyrano of Bergerac which passed part of its youth there.
