History

The village of Etienne Saint was formerly called Mas of the church. It was joined together with the distant parish of Prémian hardly of three kilometers. It became a commune with whole share after the French revolution. Several religious buildings existed on this territory, in particular a cloister now hidden, an old church become presbytery, the most beautiful masonry of the village today, and the current church. The railway line Castres Montpellier which dates from the beginning of the 20th century, was closed in 1972. It is replaced today by a green track intended to the hikers and for the cyclists who proudly makes a turning on the level of the station to emphasize the barracks of the Firemen and the wild discharges many, preserved well and perfectly visible at this place.
