Saint-Christophe-on-Rock is a common French, located in the department of the Two-Sevres and the area Poitou-Charentes.

Geography

Saint-Christophe-on-rock is located at 17 km in the north of the town of Niort and at 23 km in the south-west of Parthenay. The village falls under a type of particular landscape: the Gâtine (area of spoiled ground , bad ground) which one also finds in other areas (Touraine in particular). The impermeable ground supports the presence of number of source S, pond S, Rivière S which irrigates a green and undulating scrap-metal landscape.

  • In lower part of the village circulates a underground Rivière developing on approximately 5 km and two distinct networks: network of the Vault-Stick and network of Saint-Project

  • a Lavoir builds in against-low old dairy industrial (going back to 1894 and registered with the inheritance since 2002) gives access the underground river.

  • Cross hosannière height a 9 m, classified historic building on March 22nd 1889.

  • Church basic Romance renovated at the 17th century:
    • semicircular Apse
    • funerary fragment of carved plate probably dating from the 13th century
