Saint-Christophe-with-Valains ( Breton Sant-Kristol-Gwalen in ) is a common French, located in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine and the area Brittany.
Saint-Christophe-to-Valains comes from holy Christophe, owner of the travellers and the motorists and Valains, Fief of Old man-Vy-on-Couesnon.
Geography
Saint-Christophe-of-Valains is located at 37 km in the North-East of Rennes and at 35 km in the south of the Mont Saint-Michel in the Breton Bocage.The communes bordering are Chauvigné, Plow for the third time It, Saint-Ouen-of-Freeholds and Old man-Vy-on-Couesnon.
History
Although very old, the origin of the Paroisse is unknown. The Priory-cure of Saint-Christophe-of-Valains depended on the Abbaye of Rillé located at Fougères.Chouannerie fights.
The mixed elementary school was founded in 1856. There were three nuns. They dealt of the school and the care with the patients.
1936: Raw historical in Ille-et-Vilaine. Under the parapet of the bridge located on D22, a plate indicates the level reached by the Minette on January 4th, 1936.
July 31st 1944: parachuting of weapons with the participation of the Resistant S of Old man-Vy-on-Couesnon and of the Bérel group, Vice-chancellor with Saint-Christophe-in Valains.
1963: construction of the new buildings of the private school St Joseph with the participation of the parents and the Abbot Joseph Pear tree of Saint-Ouen-of-Freeholds and Saint-Christophe-of-Valains.
End of the Years 1960: arrival of running water.
Two schools existed at the 20th century. The public school functioned until the beginning of the Années 1970.
2005 - 2006: creation of the network of cleansing of waste water.

Traditions
As in the common neighbors, the Gallo, called Patois in the area, was usually spoken until in the years 1970. Since, it is replaced by French, especially near the young generations.
The Galette of black Blé belongs to traditional food. In the years 1960, “commercial of wafers” delivered its production to residence.
The Galette sausage is often consumed at the time of the village f4etes. One also finds some on the Marché S.
The banquet of the class S which gathers the Conscrit S of the year and people originating in the commune whose age ends in 0. It is held at the same time as that of Saint-Ouen-of-Freeholds.
The Set of metal discs, played on a board out of wooden, is practiced between friends or at the time of contest.
