Saint-Charles-the-Forest is a common French, located in the department of the Mayenne and the area Pays of the Loire.

The commune of Saint-Charles-the-Forest has of a swimming pool, a Village holidays and a natural space. It primarily owes it with the generosity of the husbands Corgnet (Genevieve and Pierre). During forty years, this couple dedicated a good part of its time and its energy to collective projects.The two husbands arrive in the commune in 1949 where they are teachers. They créént a School fund . Objects are sold to pay summer holidays to the children of the school. This tradition goes perdurer with stays in Spain, Italy, Suisse, Netherlands and in all the France. With the beginning of the year 1950, Pierre and Genevieve create the school canteen of the commune. And in 1956, they set up a contest of 17 , card deck close to the Manila. Year by year, thanks to the word of mount, the contest knows a notoriety without similar: one counts 184 players in 1956 and 20.000 participants in 1976. Thousands of players of 17 invaded the borough of Saint-Charles-the-Forest. Thirty editions of the competition for A-grade officials were organized between 1956 and 1985. The inhabitants of the commune gave a large knack. They helped to go up prefabricated where the contest took place which was exploited three weekends. The amount of the batches (voyages, car…) rose with 500.000 francs. The benefit financed the holidays of the young people but also the equipment communal: a swimming pool air-conditioned in 1972, a pond and the medical ones in 1976, a room of leisures in 1982, a first bungalow in 1985, the wood of Beautiful-Air , rooms and other bungalows in 1993. Pierre Corgnet is mayor of the commune of 1983 with 1998.

Church : Charles of Trémoille, count of Laval (Mayenne), ordered the construction of this church in 1684. It was dedicated to Saint-Charles Borromée, of which the statue of the XVIIe century out of terra cotta throne on the furnace bridge. At the XVIIIe century, it fell in ruin. The chorus, the transept and the furnace bridge were rebuilt one century later. In 2005, the church given in state is reopened after 7 years of closing.
