Saint-Chély-in Aubrac
Saint-Chély-with Aubrac is a common French, located at the south of the plate of the Aubrac, in the department of the Aveyron and the area the Midday-Pyrenees.

History
The population of Saint-Chély-in Aubrac goes back initially to the Préhistoire where close to the rock of Castelviel to polished flints and stone axes were found. The way GR. 65 takes it again via-Podiensis which is, at this place, the old Roman way, and is the means simplest to join the valley of the Lot.
Since the history of Adalard which the Jura, after being taken in an ambush with the approach of Aubrac, to found there the Dômerie d' Aubrac or hospital of Aubrac, Saint-Chély-in Aubrac lived, saw, and will live by and for the pilgrimage.
Here the oldest version of the adventure of Adalard (15th century):
Adalard, ghost of Compostelle with his continuation of thirty knights, crossed the Aubrac in the twilight and undoubtedly sought a shelter for the night when he warned a cave, hidden with deepest of wood. But there, horror! the pilgrims found there twenty to thirty heads of assassinated travellers. It could be only pilgrims of Compostelle! Christ appeared then and asked Adalard to found a hospital in this dangerous place. Adalard completed its pilgrimage and returned, alone, to obey the divine order…
- 1790 - 1794: Saint-Chély is consisted the meeting of Saint-Chély-with-Belveze and Saint-Chély-with Estaing
- 1837: Saint-Chély absorbs Bonnefon and Pouget .
- 1936 : Saint-Chély takes the name of Saint-Chély of Aubrac.

Romance Église of the 11th-12th century is mentioned among those which Pons Etienne gave in 1082 to the abbey of Saint-Victor of Marseilles under the name of Saint-Éloi to the lower part of Belvezet. It is rebuilt at the 15th century, following its fire towards 1385 during the Guerre One hundred Year old, around a tower of the old fortifications being used to him as bell-tower. With its large arcs beams, its platform has much character.

Excursion
The excursion is undoubtedly one of the strong points of the village which offers a splendid panorama, more especially as it belongs to the mythical way to go to Saint-Jacques-with-Compostelle, the GR. 65.
All the walkers will say it to you: the Aubrac is the paradise of the eyes and the hell of the feet… But one finds shipwrecked man there, in the event of bad weather, when one is between Aubrac and Saint-Chély, whereas the fog masks the colors and returns the green of the mountain noirâtre, one does not know that 7 kilometers lower, all is calmer and serene there. Whereas, in the event of good weather, all is splendid there. With each crossing of way, one does not know where to look at.
Saint-Chély-in Aubrac and Aubrac are the two stages Aveyron are born from the Aubrac which lead to the valley of the Lot. One leaves Aubrac with 1.300 meters of altitude and, in 7 kilometers, one arrives at Saint-Chély-in Aubrac at 800 meters of altitude, then one leaves the Aubrac by Saint-Like-with Olt approximately to 400 meters of altitude, with about fifteen kilometers.
