Saint-Brace
Saint-Brace is a Municipalité of parish in the regional Municipalité of county of Matapédia with the Quebec (Canada), located in the administrative area of the Low-Saint-Laurent. The village has an economy based on agriculture.
Saint-Brace was built on the watershed which separates the basin from the Fleuve the St. Lawrence of that of the Baie of Heats, to 40 km in the North-West of Amqui. Enclosure partly in the cantons of MacNider, Pooch and Awantjish, this territory is enamelled water levels of which lakes with Ti-Blasse, in Pierre, Fifteenth Thousand and the Large Pond.
Founded in 1870 and set up canonically in 1873, Saint-Brace is one of the oldest parishes of the valley of Matapédia. The denomination selected, also allotted to the municipality of parish set up in 1878, points out the memory of the abbot Moïse Duguay (1820 - 1870), archpriest of the diocese of Rimouski (1869 - 1870) and first priest of Holy-Flavie (1850-1870), place of origin of good number of the pioneers.
