Its old denomination is Saint-Bosoms . It takes its current name in July 2006 (decree 2006-808 of July 7th, 2006).

The commune is crossed by an affluent of the Luy, the brook of the Grand Arrigan (23,5 km) and by the brook of Lataillade (13,7 km), an affluent of the Gave of Pau.

Toponymy

The toponym Saint-Bosom-in-Béarn appears in the forms Sanctus-Gerontius (1101, cartulaire of Lescar), Feel-Bosoms (1322, cartulaire of Orthez), Feels-Gerontz (1404, titles of Herrère), Sanctz-Guyrontz and Saint-Guirons (respectively 1546 and 1675, reformation of Béarn), Saint-Bosoms (1863, topographic dictionary Basque Béarn-Country).

Saint-bosoms is a saint martyr in Aire at the 4th century. The locality bears the name of the saint evangelist of Chalosse (Holy Géronce), transcribed in standard French in the form of Saint-Bosoms.
