Saint-Antonin-of-VAr

Saint-Antonin-of-VAr ( Sant-Antounin-dòu-VAr in Of Provence of Standard mistralienne and Sant-Antonin-dau-VAr in Of Provence traditional) is a common French, located in the department of the Var and the area Provence-Alp-Coast of Azure, member of the Communauté of common County of Provence. Its inhabitants are Antonais.
Geography
Located in the middle of an undulating area, drained by many brooks which are thrown in the Argens, Saint-Antonin is to 190 of altitude, the variation of the road main roads with 8km of Entrecasteaux, 10km of Lorgues and 16km of Salernes.
History
The Roman presence is attested by the discovery of many shards of ceramics with Saint-Antonin, a necropolis with Cagnosc and a press in Salgues.In 1135, Saint-Antonin is a hamlet which depends on Entrecasteaux, gathered around the Notre-Dame vault of the Assumption. It was quoted this year: " Sanctus Antoninus of Inter Castellis".
This old hamlet reached the row of common only in 1954.

Monuments and places to visit
- the Notre-Dame vault of the Assumption: listed in 1038, it was several times restored and presents today on its frontage on three broad bays to triple blind arcade in full-clotheshanger resting on fine columns to the historiés capitals. The external walls are supported by very powerful buttresses. Its principal frontage, open by a very simple and bored gate of a oculus, is surmounted by a pinnacle with bay.

Saint-Antonin has many castles like the castles of Salgues, of Closed (XVIIe century), of Drouets, Vauvebelette, Mentone and Margotton.
