Saint-Antoine-on-Richelieu
Saint-Antoine-on-Richelieu is a municipality in the regional Municipalité of county of It Valley-of-Richelieu the with the Quebec (Canada), located in the administrative area of the Montérégie.
Saint-Anthony was marked by several events of the political history of the country. As of 1750, the incipient village counted 55 militiamans and this number grows with the population. They are put at contribution particularly during the war against the the United States.

Events of 1837
Saint-Anthony also took part actively in the movement of the Patriotes. The day of the Battle of Saint-Denis, the November 23rd 1837, the young person George-Etienne Cartier and its Henri cousin gathered a hundred men from here and of the surroundings which crossed the river in the vat of the Roberge frontier runner, under the enemy shootings, to go to lend hand-strong to the inhabitants of Saint-Denis. This event, whose account appeared in the newspaper Minerve, gathered nearly 400 people. The historical and cultural Company of Saint-Anthony revived this tradition and organizes each year a Community dinner during which one underlines the achievements of women of Saint-Anthony who particularly marked their medium.
