Saint-Épiphane

Saint-Épiphane is a municipality in the regional Municipalité of county of River-of-Wolf to the Quebec (Canada), located in the administrative area of the Low-Saint-Laurent.

It is into 1840 that the first colonists, come for the majority from River-of-Wolf, Saint-Arsene and Isle-Green the, are established on the territory of the future municipality. Since 1842, a mission ensured the helps of the religion the rare inhabitants who found a parish under the name of Saint-Épiphane in 1863, set up canonically in 1870. The parochial territory had been made up with same those of Saint-Jean-Baptist-of-the Isle-Green and Saint-François-Xavier-with-Viger. This project is very discussed since it must be built near important sites ornitologic and in the middle of an inhabited territory and strongly developed for the beauty of its landscapes. The Office of public sittings in environment having presented an unfavourable report/ratio with the project, discussions are in hand between the promoter and the town councilors in order to modify the plan of establishment projected to attenuate the impacts of them.
