Sahand
Kuh-e Sahand (in Persan سهند) is more the high summit (approximately 3800 m) of the province of Eastern Azerbaïdjan in Iran.
It is one of the more high mountains of the Iranian Azerbaïdjan, and it is also an important inactive volcano in the country. The Sahand mounts are located at the south of Tabriz, and more the high summit is the Jam Daqi with an altitude of 3750m. One can count approximately 17 tops of more than 3000 meters in this chain.
On Sahand is the Winter sports resort of Sahand.
Sahand is also the name of a Iranian frigate of Saam Class, run at the time of the operation Praying Mantis by the American forces in 1988.
