Sagem
The Sagem (Company of Electric and Mechanical General Applications) was large a French Entreprise present in the sectors of the Télécommunication S and the electronic of defense and Sécurité. It was the second French group in these specialities, behind Alcatel. With the international plan, Sagem was present in approximately thirty countries.
Its statute was that of a Public limit company with directory and board of trustees. The president of the directory was Mr. Gregoire Olivier and that of the board of trustees, Mr. Mario Colaiacovo.
The capital of Sagem was controlled mainly by the personnel. The external principal shareholders were the public groups Areva and CDC.
The fusion of Sagem with the public aeronautical group Snecma was announced on October 16th 2004. March 18th 2005, the duet announced that it took the new name of Safran. The creation of Safran resulted in the subsidiarization of the perimeter of Sagem into three new businesses.
