the Church St Jean-Baptiste:

The church, of very old origin, which was dedicated to Notre-Dame, preserved its turn-porch Romance which perhaps dates from XIIe century. The decoration carved in relief at the ground floor and on the last level brings it closer to abbey to Murbach in Haut-Rhin and the cathedral to Worms in Germany.

The nave was rebuilt of 1749 to 1753 in style baroque (date engraved on an arc of the Northern wall, partially hidden by a neo-classic porch of 1936). Crawling of the roof of the old nave are visible on the wall Is tower.

A first taken organ seat in 1845. It was built by the Master organ builder of Soda, Stiehr-Mockers. It was several times altered, in particular by Wetzel, then rebuilt in pneumatic traction on two keyboards and a pedal by Joseph Rinckenbach.

In 1936, the nave was lengthened of two spans towards the east, glaze of a barrel vault with penetrations (replacing a ceiling with painted medallions); the chorus was rebuilt and covered with a radiant groined vault to several voûtains. This work was carried out by the architect Paul-Ernest Zigan de Saverne and the Bock contractor of Saessolsheim. The first stone (of the enlarging) was bénite by Monseigneur Ruch. The church is then dedicated to Saint Jean-Baptiste.

From 1979 to 1983, the church was made renovate. The restoration was divided into three phases: 1- Interior of the church, improvement of the heating, the pavement of the ground, the restoration of the floor, painting, adapted electricity, joinery, benches given to nine, insulation of the vault, the water conveyance, etc 2- Improvement of the accesses of church (repair of the alleys, etc) 3- The restoration of furniture classified historic building (furnace bridges, pulpit, woodworks of the chorus and stalls). The church was inaugurated on June 19th, 1983 by Monseigneur Elchinger, bishop of Strasbourg.

In 1995, a new taken organ seat: it is an instrument of Bernard Aubertin of 30 plays distributed out of two manual keyboards and pedals. This last was enriched, in 2000, of a choir organ of 5 plays, also of Bernard Aubertin.

April 10th, 1996, the tower was registered entirely with the inventory of the historic buildings.

The last quarters 2003, the church was made a new beauty thanks to the interior restoration (electricity, heating, painting, etc)

It was made inaugurate on June 20th, 2004.
