Saddle (bicycle)
On a bicycle, the saddle is the part making it possible to the cyclist to sit down.
Adjustment
It often happens that the comfort of the saddle of bicycle depends only on some adjustments.
- Height
In general, the saddle is adjusted so that the leg is lengthened without being completely right. So in this position the person must balance herself on a side and other to pedal, it is that the saddle is too high. Once the good found height, it is necessary to carry out the adjustment of the angle (Note:: The followers of descent to bicycle tend to place their very low saddle. This position enables them to keep their body in a compact block, to quickly put a foot on the ground and not to be caught in their saddle if they must jump of their bicycle. For the descent, the effectiveness of the movement of pédalage is secondary because gravity takes the top quickly. For the runners (tracks, or road) one will rather privilege comfort and the effectiveness because the latter must traverse very long distances.)
- Angle
The majority of the cyclists like to have their saddle as right as possible. However, certain cyclists give him a light angle upwards to put at it thus more weight whereas others prefer an angle downwards. It is a question of taste. Point out you only that any modification must be very light.
- Longitudinal Position
It is generally preferable to keep well the saddle in the center of its stem. If you advance it or move back it too much, you will modify the geometry of your bicycle and the position of your body. Sometimes it sometimes happens to compensate for the length of the framework by moving back the saddle, that sometimes avoids to change framework. But these adjustments remain tiny.
