Sadamasa Motonaga

Sadamasa Motonaga (元永定正; Motonaga Sadamasa) is an artist Japan board born in 1922 in the Préfecture of Mie. It is one of the founding members of the movement of avant-garde Gutaï .

Biography

In 1940, Sadamasa Motonaga studies the Art schools with Nakanoshima of Ōsaka.

As of the foundation of the movement, it adheres to Gutaï and takes part in its first exposure to Tōkyō in 1955.

Its works rehabilitate rough materials like the nails and wood.

It exposes its works to Tōkyō, Kyōto, New York, Turin, Washington starting from 1959. Starting from 1980, it exposes and takes part in retrospectives of Gutaï in Japan and in the whole world.
