Sacristy

The sacristy is the appendix of a church where one preserves the sacred vessels (chalice…), ornaments of church (linens, paddle…) and where the priest prepares to celebrate the Messe. The person (Laic or Religious) charged with the sacristy is called the sexton or the sacristine.

The sacristy, as its name indicates it, is a crowned place where one prepares with the Cérémonie S, where one keeps the various objects of the Culte. She thus takes part in the Sainteté of the church with which she communicates.

Any sacristy has a piece of furniture with a small wall cupboard in the medium, in form of Tabernacle broad, and drawers and dishes in bottom. One finds there also photographs under glass, the first with the name of the bishop of the Diocèse and the second with the name of the pope. Above the piece of furniture, in the place of honor, the Crucifix is, that the priest greets on departure and arrival of the ceremonies.
