Synopsis

First days of the Campaigns of the Pacific, through a flotilla of torpedo tube ordered by lieutenants John Brickley and Rusty Ryan. One of their mission is to escort the general Douglas MacArthur. The film also treats with much realism of the falls of Philippines.

Ford requires the sum of 250.000 dollars to make film. This sum was used to him to finance the Field Photo Farm which it intended to the veterans Field Photo Links. It also required that Louis B. Mayer invest the same amount there.
the scenario of Frank W. Wead which took part in the War of the Pacific gives to the characters an authentic humanity and realism. Ford will treat the life of its scenario writer in the Eagle flies to the sun .
Ford and Lt. John Brickley met during the War, and took part together in secret missions. Lt. John Brickley had the responsibility for the motor torpedo boats at the time of the unloading of Normandy.
Ford broke the leg at the end of film. It is Robert Montgomery who directed the last sequences of film.
