Sabouraud (Gélose)
The gélose Sabouraud is a medium of insulation of the Fungi (Moisissure S and Levure S).
Composition
- Peptone .................... 10 G - Glucose massed .............. 20 G - Agar-agar .................. 15 G - Water distilled (qsp) ........ 1.000 ml pH = 6,0
Characteristics
Naturally acid, it inhibits the growth of many bacteria. It can be added with Chloramphénicol (to 0,5 g/L) or with Gentamycine (with 0,04 g/L), inhibits most of the Bactérie S allowing the selection of yeasts and moulds. Addition of Actidione (Chloreximide) (with the concentration of 0,5 g/L) selects the pathogenic moulds and yeasts. The addition of hydrochlorate of 2-3-5-triphényltétrazolium (with 0,1 g/L) allows the differentiation of yeasts of the kind Candida . Indeed, the 2-3-5-triphényltétrazolium can be reduced by certain yeasts in coloured products.
