Sabins

The Sabins (in Latin Sabini ) are people of Italy established in the North-East of Rome at the time antiquated, in the south of the Ombriens. It is about Indo-European people , group Osco-ombrien. They are famous for their bravery, the simplicity of their manners and their large respect of the religion.

Many Roman traditions, relative in particular to the religious institutions, indicate that an element sabin is present at the first times of Rome, due undoubtedly to the assimilation rather than with the conquest. According to a family tradition, the people Claudia was a Sabine family which, at one moved back time, had settled in Rome with the agreement of the Romans.

However, Tite-Live reports many wars between Sabins and Romains, who finishes in 449 av. J. - C. by a great Roman victory. In 290 av. J. - C., Mr. Curtius Dentatus subjects Sabins definitively and conquers their territory; they are absorbed in the Roman State, and are gratifiés in 268 of the full and whole Roman citizenship.
