Sabah Fakhri
Sabah Fakhri (rear RTL صباحفخري) born in 1933 with Alep is a singer, tenor Syrian. It is one of the last Masters of the musical heritage of Alep which one calls also koudoud Al-halabiyya. It made its studies with the Academy of Alep, and that of Damas thereafter. He was the disciple great figures of the Arab music such as Ali Darwich, Omar Batch and Mohamed Rajab.
He innovates Muwachah (rear RTL موشح) (Muwachahat in the plural) by widening the formula of traditional Takht (traditional small formation of room), with a full orchestra largely reserved for the cords like the violins, the violoncellos and the double bass.
He received in 1978 the Gold medal of the Arab Music of Damas.
He is regarded today as having the most powerful voice in the Arab music of the 20th century.
At the time of one in its concerts with Caracas, he sang ten hours of at a stretch, which was worth to him to appear in the Livre Guinness of the records.
