Saanen (caprine race)

The saanen is a caprine race originating in Suisse. The white and creams it are the only accepted colors of dress. It is excellent a Lait ière. She produces on average 900 liters of milk by lactation, but most productive 1000 liters exceed.

In France, the livestock of saanen represents approximately 350.000 heads. Its breeding is especially concentrated in south-east and the center.

On a world level, it is one of the dairy races most widespread.
