Saadi or Sadi سعدی (of its true name Mushrif-ud-DIN Abdullah ) (1184 - 1283/1291?) is an Iranian poet, born with Shiraz in Iran.
A moral poet and a large mystic
Saadi, in its collection of tales, named the Golestan (Garden of pinks) , exposes a series of moral tales on the behaviors to be held in certain situations of the life. Adopting an imagery which is not without pointing out those of the Thousand and One Nights, its tales can be read with multiple degrees: some purely moral or social, others more spiritual. Part of its collection besides is always used like handbook of teaching soufi by many communities.
