The 9000 , a car produced by Saab, was launched in 1984 for the year 1985 (it was launched in 1985 for the year 1986 to North America). The frame on which the 9000 is based was divided with FIAT Croma, the Lancia Thema and the Alfa Romeo 164. The FIAT and Lancia were visually close to Saab, but the Alfa Romeo divided only the frame. Because of these similarities, a good number of parts are interchangeable between the four cars, it does not matter the mark. The doors of the FIAT Croma are appropriate directly for the 9000, but are lighter, although they receive same protection with the side shocks. The windshield of Croma can also be used on the 9000.
Le Cx was of 0,32. The Design was carried out by Giorgetto Giugiaro.
The 9000 was first Saab whose ignition key is placed under the wheel - in other Saab it was placed on the ground close to the central console.
For the first year, the only engine available was one 4 cylinders of 1.985 cm ³, Double camshaft at the head, 16 valves, cooled by Eau and having a Turbocompresseur, delivering 175 CH (128 KW). The car was equipped with a trip computer posting the instantaneous and average fuel consumption, the distance remaining before the dry breakdown and the external Température. It also controlled all the bulbs in the event of breakdown of the one of them.
