Saab 9-5
The Saab 9-5 is a Automobile mark Saab.
First Saab 9-5 appeared in 1997, to replace the Saab 9000.
Intended to cap the Saab range, it also brought its batch of innovations:
- driving asymmetrical V6 with Turbo low Pressure;
- Saab system Activates Head Restraint (head-rest credits reducing the risks of cervical lesions at the time of a shock);
- seats before ventilated.
The range Saab 9-5 was supplemented in 1998 by the variation station-wagon, called Estate . In 2001, the range underwent a first restylage. It is on this occasion that the first Diesel engine was introduced: it was about V6 of origin Isuzu, which developed 176 ch. Some modifications followed, of which the introduction of a Aero model equipped with one 2.3 L Turbo of 250 ch. Dernière modification in date, heavy a restylage in December 2005 to stick to the new orientations stylistics of the mark. This model is from now on available in BioPower version, i.e. having an engine Flexfuel functioning containing Ethanol E85 like with the normal unleaded gas.
Saab 9-5 received 5 stars out of 5 with the tests of the EuroNCAP in 2003.
