Saônelle
The Saônelle is a French Rivière which runs in the departments of Haute-Marne and of the the Vosges. It is an affluent out of left bank of the Meuse.
Geography
Saônelle is born in the east from the department from Haute-Marne on the territory from the commune of Lafauche, located in wood and forests which cover a good part of the area (forest of Bouloire) in the east of Chaumont. Its course directs from the start towards the North-East, head office which the river will maintain throughout its course. This last proceeds initially in Haute-Marne then in the department of the Vosges. The river bathes successively the localities of Liffol-the-Large Lafauche, Liffol-le-Petit, , Villouxel, Pargny-under-Mureau, Midrevaux, Sionne and Coussey. It joins the Meuse on the territory of this last commune, with a few kilometers upstream of Domrémy-the-Virgin.
Hydrology
Saônelle is a small, but very abundant river. The average interannual flow or module of the river to the confluence of the Meuse is worth 2,31 m ³ a second for a small catchment area of only 134,5 km ². The Lame of water past in the basin of 542 millimetres, which is raised, higher not only than that of the average of France, all confused basins, but is also compared with the various rivers of the basin of the Meuse, already generally rather abundant. Its specific Flow or Qsp is assembled consequently at 17,15 liters a second and per square kilometer.
