Saïan mounts

The mounts Saïan or solid mass of Saïan (, Sayany ) are a mountainous solid mass of the south of Siberia. Solid mass of Eastern Saïan court on approximately 1  000 km of the river Ienisseï until the south-west of the Lake Baïkal. Western Saïan prolongs in the east the solid mass of the Altaï over a length of approximately 500 km.

Tops and the lakes of the solid mass located at the south-west of the republic of Touva are born the rivers which form downstream one of the most powerful Siberian rivers, Ienisseï, which runs on close to 4  000 km until the Arctic Ocean.

The area was closed the abroads by the Soviet Union until in 1944.
