SWAT 3: Closed Quarters Battle

SWAT 3: Close Quarters Battle is a video game of action to the first nobody with elements of strategy. It left to France in November 1999. SWAT 3 which belongs to the series Police Quest , combines a realistic universe 3D and a strategy game police in real-time.

Summary

The signature of the treaty of prohibition of the nuclear weapons, in 2005, brings in the town of Los Angeles the leaders of the largest country. The safety of these leaders is thus ensured by the unit SWAT whose player is the leader.

Play

The player takes the head of a team of 4 people, whom it directs through 21 missions. In each one of them it must ensure the protection of the hostages and civilians, and the arrest of the suspects. It must take care of its safety and that of its team which it directs. Sometimes in spite of its action kind, it is necessary to keep living the suspect, and the reflection and the tactics are sometimes vital.

In mode a player, one can begin a career (sequence of the missions) or choose one of the 21 missions available. The missions go from the arrest of armed man to the intervention in buildings containing a bomb or quite simply enemies.

The multijouor mode makes it possible to play on the lan, or Internet, in mode Coopératif (objectives) or Deathmatch where the player chooses the chart, the scenario, the number of civilians, of enemies, his behavior and his weapons. The modes Until the last and co-operative Deathmatch (or TEAM deathmatch ) are also available.

For the modes Deathmatch, the weapon can be converts into Paintball.

Extension

The version original did not contain mode multijouor, each version being stand alone.

A version Elite Edition left in November 2000. It includes/understands five new charts/scenarios, possibilities to play member of team and not obligatorily leader, mode multijoueur, option Suicide (for example when a player is driven back), an adjustment of the difficulty in milliseconds) of the IA of the police officers and suspects.

A version GOTY: Game Of The Year left in 2001.

Mods

The Swat community has to carry out a great number of mods, mainly of the weapons and missions but also of the uniforms. Thus one will be able to be equipped with Uzi, Famas or Berretta in a behavior of intervention of the FBI.
