SHIELD
The SHIELD ( Supreme Headquarters, International Espionage, Law Enforcement Division then Strategic Hazard Intervention, Espionage and Logistics Directorate ) is an agency of espionage created by Stan Lee in Strange Tales n° 135 in 1962 and published in France in the Strange Special Origins n° 142.
It is of this agency that Nick Fury, one-eyed super-spy, is the historical director, even if the command were ensured during some time by G.W. Bridges. Nick Fury, following its secret war against Latvérie, disappeared from circulation. The organization was directed by Maria Hill until the events of Civil War . Now, Tony Stark succeeded Maria Hill.
Into French, it was sometimes translated by S.E.R.V.O. (the original name being a pun since " shield" mean " bouclier" in English).
