SG-1

SG-1 is the first team of Stargate Command, and whose adventures are told in the series Stargate SG-1.

Role of the team

SG-1 is the team of prestige of SGC, used most of the time for the dangerous exploration and missions, but also for missions of diplomacy, even if the protocolar missions their are not preferred by far.

Composition of the team

The original members of SG-1 are Colonel Jack O' Neill, Dr. Daniel Jackson, the Captain Samantha Carter and Teal' C. During eight seasons, their principal enemies are the Goa' ulds, a dominant and highly intelligent race of which the goal is to control the galaxy. These extraterrestrial having the appearance of snakes takes the control of a body of another species, of which the human ones, and that on several planets. The original Némésis of team SG-1 was the Lord Apophis. The character of Daniel Jackson left the series at the end of season 5 before returning at the beginning of season 7. During its absence, the fans of the series could discover Jonas Quinn, extraterrestrial which joined SG-1 before turning over on its native world at the time of the return of Daniel Jackson. After the departure of Richard Dean Anderson (O' neill), at the end of season 8, the producers recruited new characters and established a new scenaristic screen to renew the interest of the series. Season 9 thus saw the arrival of Colonel Cameron Mitchell, of Vala Mal Doran as well as new leader for SGC, the Général Landry.

Pilot

The colonel Jack O' Neill, following his return to the active service, is charged to direct a team to inquire into the aggression Goa' uld with the SGC, while starting with Abydos.

One more or less imposes to him the captain Samantha Carter, and obviously Daniel Jackson recovered on Abydos, this planet put out of cause.

At the end of the episode, Teal' C having decided to rebel against Goa' ulds and to join laughed Tau' , Jack O' Neill insists on its presence in team SG-1, her knowledge of the enemy being more useful on the ground.
