The French company of radiotelephone , indicated under the trade name of SFR is one of the three mobile telephone operators French and a French supplier of access to ADSL.
History
SFR-Cegetel
The French company of Radiotelephone was created in 1987 then became a subsidiary company of the group Cegetel created in 1996 to gather the telecommunications activities of General Water. Cegetel had many shareholders (Mannesmann, Vodafone, General Compagnie of Water, SBC, British Telecom…) was the first private operator of telecommunications with more: 8000 paid and more than 8 billion euros turnover.In 2003, at the time of the fusion of several holdings financial, SFR its head office Groupe Cegetel absorbs and becomes the principal shareholder of the telecommunications operator fixed Cegetel, him even resulting from a fusion with Telecom Development, created with the SNCF. Vivendi-Vodafone
The French company of radiotelephone became then a subsidiary company of the companies Vivendi and Vodafone.Having its own networks GSM/GPRS and UMTS/HSDPA, it produces for the private individuals, the professionals and the companies of the telephone services mobile, from went back mobile and to multi-media mobile. Operator referent of the new uses of the mobile, it launched the first services 3G and 3G+ of the French market. It counts 3 million customers exclusively 3G.

In the month of August 2007: 1900 paid SFR Customer service, mainly from the Téléconseiller S, are transferred to subcontractors partners (Arvato and Teleperformance) after a social conflict from a width without precedent in the company.
Its presidents were successively Sirs Alain Bravo, Philippe Glottin, Philippe Germond and Frank Esser.
