SCAR

the scar is the result of a lesion of the derm, generally following an incision carried out during an operation.

The Cicatrisation forms integral part of the process of cure. Separately the very minor lesions, each wound (after an accident, a disease, or a surgical act) generates a more or less important scar. The cicatricial tissue is not identical to the fabric which it replaces and is usually lower functional quality. For example, the cutaneous scars are more sensitive to the ultraviolet radiation, the glands sudoripares and the pilous follicules do not develop under the scar; the formation of consecutive scars to a Myocardial infarction causes a loss of power of the cardiac muscle and increases the risks of failures heart. However, some fabrics (for example the Os) can cure without structural or functional deterioration.

Side effects

A scar can be painful a few years after surgical operation, and thus to have an effect on the psychological state of the patient.

It can be also transformed into Chéloïde.
