SARA

It is under this name that was indicated the Société of the Applications of Air cooling , French car manufacturer, who started to produce cyclecars of quality since 1922 in his factory of Courbevoie. Its characteristic was its engine of 1100cm3 with 4 cylinders on line cooled by air.
These small-engined cars underwent notable improvements and had interesting results with the Mans: in 1923,1924 and 1925, a car SARA was on arrival. In 1926, they are two out of two in 11th and 12th places at the distance to 75 km/h of average.
In 1925 the model headlight is the series BE/SM of 7 cv whose characteristics were:
- straight-4 engine cooled by Air Force by 28 ch turbine with 3500 t/mn
- tail rotor drive with oscillating bridge
- gear box with 4 reports/ratios and step back
- front suspension by leaf spring transverse and back by springs half-cantilever
- direction with endless screw
- mechanical brake on the 4 wheels
- wheels with rays
- weight 830 kg
- maximum speed 100 km/h
