SAP BW

SAP Business Information Warehouse (SAP BW) is the name of a great solution of business intelligence, or decisional, of analysis and reporting for the company, published by SAP AG. Today, its name slightly changed to become SAP Netweaver BI.

It contains a tool for decisional parameter setting of solution (Data Warehouse Workbench) with analytical wide possibilities, a continuation of software of reporting (Bex) and a tool of simulation and planning with Integrated Planning (in the past bps for Business Planning and Simulation.

Here its various layers:

Extraction, Transformation and Load (LTE) for the extraction, the transformation and the loading in analytical structures BW.
Dated warehouse for the information storage in its base.
Reporting to give access to information to the users
Planning to carry out simulations or to establish the budgetary process of a company.

SAP BW belongs to the Netweaver continuation. Other components come with SAP Enterprise Portal, Web Server Application (WAS), SAP Process Integration (pi, or in the past XI) and Master Data Management (MDM).

Version 7.0 left in June 2006. Its old name is Netweaver 2004s, revolutionizing the product to be placed among the best of the market.

According to SAP, there is already more than 12.000 installations in the world.
