SAETA

A saeta is a short song in religious matter sung in the honor of a paso at the time of the ceremonies of the Holy Week in Spain. At certain key times of the course of a paso, a member of the public, or the brotherhood responsible for the paso can entonner with full lungs a saeta. It is acted in fact of one ode to the Vierge, the Saint or the Christ of the paso. The saeta are generally songs extremely moving. It is usual that crowd surrounding the passage of the paso is completely quiet at the time of the song of the saeta.
