Süreyya Ayhan , born the September 6th 1978 with Korgun, is a Turkish athlete , practitioner the Demi-fond.

Biography

Led towards the athletics by her father who practiced the discipline of the Cross-country, it becomes in 2000 first Turkish to reach the semi-finals with the Olympic Games of summer. The following year, it reaches the final at the time of the Championnats of the world 2001 with Edmonton.

But it is especially thanks to its gold medal at the time of the Championnats of Europe 2002 with Munich that the world of the athletics really discovers it. It also gains the same year two meetings of the Golden League, the Memorial van Damme and the meeting ISTAF. It still gains the World cup of athletics in Madrid. It finishes thus with the first world rank of the discipline to the end of the year.

The following year, it finishes second of the Championnat of the world 2003 with Paris - Saint-Denis. However, it again gains the meetings of Berlin and Brussels, also adding the Weltklasse Zurich. It finishes again with the first world rank of the discipline.

It must give up the Olympic Games of 2004 with Athens because of a wound the Tendon. The rumors run whereas this fixed price is with a control of doping. At the time of this one, and although it was cleared by IAAF, this one condemns it to two years of suspension for noncompliance with the rules governing controls anti-dopings.
