Sésostris (- 1897/-1878) is a Pharaon, wire of Amenemhat {{II}}. Its reign constitutes a transition between the two parts of. On the one hand it continues the former policy, on the other hand it starts the great innovations of second half of the dynasty: installation of a system of fortifications into Low Nubie and development of the marshes of the Fayoum.

Moreover it built its complex pyramidal with Illahoun, with the entry of the depression of the Fayoum.
