Sénaillac-Roofing stones is a common French, located in the department of the Lot and the area the Midday-Pyrenees.

Geography

Sénaillac-Roofing stones is a small village of the Quercy which belongs to causses of Gramat and recent the Regional Parc of the Causses . The village of Artix forms also part of the commune. The church of Sénaillac is dedicated to Saint Severin. Its chorus is of Romance Style ({{XIe}} and 12th centuries) and the remainder of the building was several times altered during the centuries.

History

Sénaillac would come from Latin Sanilius, of the name of a Gallo-Roman man to which would have been added the suffix - acum meaning " field of Sanilius". A castle would have been built there as in the villages neighborhood towards XIIe and XIIIe centuries. One found on the commune of the sandstone coffins containing of the skeletons carrying of the bronze rings. Of XIVe in XVe century, the Guerre One hundred year old devastated Quercy. English or men-at-arms of English would have occupied at certain times the village. In 1360, the treaty of Brétigny made fall Quercy under English administration. In XVe century, between the war and the Plague, the village would have been found depopulated.
