Description
The old city
The Greek city was traced according to an about regular plan, with streets standardized to 9 m, 6,5 m and 3,5 m, provided with drains. Each small island had approximately 100 feet on side. One found in one of the houses the first Escalier in Colimaçon (Hélicoïdal) known until now.
All the buildings crumbled during the centuries following earthquakes. One of them still prevailed in 1956, and for this reason, the appropriateness of the rebuilding of the temples is discussed.
The German archaeological Institute (Deutsches Archäologisches Institute, DAI) carries out the excavations for a very long time.

Among those, three adjacent temples are essential on the eyes of the visitors: south in north, the temples E, F, G, all doric, but very different between them, of time and style.
The temple E, of -460/-450, devoted to Héra, built on two former buildings, is doric periptery (6 columns out of 15)
