Séguinière
Séguinière is a common French, located in the department of Maine-et-Loire and the area Pays of the Loire.
Its inhabitants is called Zinierais or Zinierois.
History
The parish and the châtellenie of Séguinière are known since the year thousand. Not strategic on the course of the Monk, the commune separates the historical provinces from Anjou and Poitou. It is undoubtedly for this reason that Séguinière draws its name from Latin “sequinaria”, which means border.Until the end of the XIXe century, the population saw agriculture and breeding. Between 1900 and 1950, the industrialization of the textile with Cholet and shoe with Séguinière create new jobs. With most extremely of the production, 300 Ziniérais will work in this sector, but the périclite activity at the end of the Fifties.

One counts 1.500 employment on the commune and 90 ha of zones of activities. Stores of factory of the " Circuit of the marques" or of " Marks Avenue " , zone of Ménardière, are very attended: the customers come from good beyond the limits of the department.Two other zones (ZI of Large Wood and ZI of the Sheep-fold) accommodate as for them about fifty PME/PMI in very varied spheres of activity: goods transport with industrial automation while passing by the office automation or the manufacture of verandas.
Other companies are established out-agglomeration: a brickyard, a slaughter-house of poultries and a flour mill. They enter together nearly one the third of the uses of the commune.
In addition, forty farms extend on 2.000 ha.
Located in the basin of life of Cholet, the city belongs to the Communauté of agglomeration of Choletais.
Religious heritage
The religious tradition left deep prints in the communal inheritance.The famous sculpture of Our-Lady-Of-All-Patience, visible in the vault of the same name, is allotted to the Father Oil cake of Montfort, apostolic missionary, come with Séguinière in 1713 and 1715. It would have cut it in the trunk of a pear tree coming from a garden of the commune. The Montfortains brothers, missionaries of the Holy Spirit, still present themselves to it to pronounce their religious wishes.
In the Fifties, the Chauveau Abbot, well-known for his character and his escapades, also deeply marked the spirits to him. Many anecdotes circulate still about it. When the health condition of the one of its parishioners inspired some concern for example, it left to visit the patient, Our-Lady-of-All-Patience in one of the satchels of sound solex and a bottle of Amiot Widow in the other, to bring a little comfort to the “evil in point”.
Part of the heritage coming to him from his/her parents was used to renovate the church of the commune. Our-Lady-of-L' Assumption, classified historic building in 1970, shelters thanks to him a superb collection of contemporary stained glasses on the Wars of the Vendée and the life of the Father of Montfort.
Places and monuments
- a path of interpretation, along the Monk starting from the Mill of the Court, is under development to develop fauna, the flora and the local history.
- This site is already arranged and offers a space of relaxation, stations of fishing for handicapped and a spawning ground.

- on the Steps of the Father of Montfort: walk of a few kilometers to discovered architectural heritage of the commune.
- of the Way of Tiffauges to the Ruined Pond: beautiful strolls of 14 km through the landscapes of countryside ziniéraise.
