Séchilienne
Séchilienne is a common French, located in the department of the Isere and the area the Rhone-Alps.
Geography
Séchilienne is located in the throats of the Romanche (Oisans).
Downstream from the village, the locality " The Falcon" Island; , on Right Bank of Romanche, are the Ruines of Séchilienne. It is about an active zone of crumblings of the Mount-Dryness which is the mountain with the southern extrème chain of Belledonne. The various scenarios of crumblings give a volume of 3 million to 25 million m ³, even up to 100 million m ³ (assumption considered to be improbable) and which would be detached in one or more time from the mountain. The landslide could possibly bar the course of Romanche which would form a lake then upstream. This lake could involve an additional danger if it had suddenly broken because the low part of the valley is strongly urbanized (Vizille, Field-on-Drac, agglomeration of Grenoble,…) and sensitive (presence of chemical poles with Jarrie, Pont-de-Claix and Échirolles, of a Gas pipeline,…).
