Säkylä
Säkylä is a municipality south-west of the Finland, in the province of Western Finland and the area of the Satakunta.
It is the commune with the second stronger proportion of lakes (40% of the total surface area) of all the country. The reason is that the essence of the gigantic lake Pyhäjärvi is on the territory of the municipality.
The inhabited part is rather reduced, the principal villages (there are 11 in all of them) being located in the plain bordering the lake. The oriental party of the commune is wild and undulating.
Compared to much rural communes of the area, Säkylä is relatively prosperous. It could preserve a practically stable population since 1970. It owes its rather advantageous situation with the presence of the industry Agro-alimentaire, which counts two factories of national importance.
The common neighbors are Eura in the west, Koyliö in north, Vampula in the east, Alastaro in south-east and Yläne in the south (2 last in Finland of South-west).
