São Pedro de Alcântara is a city Brésil ienne of the State of Santa Catarina. It is located at a Latitude of 27° 33 ' 57" south and with a Longitude of 48° 48 ' 18" west, with a Altitude of 230 meters. Its population is estimated at: 3868 inhabitants in 2006. The municipality extends on 140 km ².
São Pedro de Alcântara belongs to the Grand Florianópolis.
History
São Pedro de Alcântara was one of the first cities of the State to receive German immigrants , founded on March 1st 1829, on the course of the Rio Imaruí, with some Lieue S of Florianópolis. Initially, the colony did not know much success, but its urban core ends up growing, until constituting the current city.
