Ryu (Street Fighter)

Ryu (隆, リュウ, “high” Ryū) is the character emblematic of the famous series of plays of combat Street Fighter. In the first shutter, it is one of the two playable characters (with Ken) and must in turn overcome 8 combatants come from Europe, America and Asia in a tournament organized by the Thai boxer named Sagat.

Biography

According to the official story, Ryu gains the final vis-a-vis its host using his special technique, the Shoryuken , inflicting with this last an enormous scar. In the series of Street Fighter Alpha, (telling the events located between SF1 and SF2) Ryu meets for the first time the mysterious Akuma. Gouki of its true name, Akuma is not other than the brother of its Master, Gouken, and its assassin. Akuma deviated of the right way, by studying the prohibited techniques mortals of karate ansatsuken, in particular that making it possible to control Satsu No Hadou. Interested by the potential of Ryu, Akuma tries to push it to use this malefic energy at the time of a combat. The confrontation will show a tie, and Ryu will leave there disturbed. Only the friendship of Ken will enable him to leave the doubt. It is then diabolic the Mr. Bison which will try to make of him its slave by dominating it with his psycho power . There still, Ken and the Sakura young person will come in his help with, surprised, Sagat! In Street Fighter II Ryu belongs to the " invités" with the tournament. The official storyline indicates that it is Guile which will overcome finally Bison.

Street Fighter III was the occasion to turn the page for many characters. Except for Ryu which carries on its way in search of experiment. And its extraordinary capacities of combatant will still attract many covetousnesses. Between Gill which hold it with the eye, Oro which sees in him a potential successor, and of course Akuma, which watches for it in the shade.

Even if it is not him which concluded the official storylines from each episode, Ryu does not remain about it less the uncontested star of the series. If one were to retain one character, it would be him. And its mythical cry from now on: Hadouken!
