Rythovius
Maarten Bouwens (also Bauwens and Boudewijns , often known as Van Rijthove ), more known under its pen name Rythovius , was the first bishop of Ypres in Belgium.
Rythovius was born in 1511 with Walik, a hamlet close to Riethoven, in the current commune of Bergeijk to the Netherlands. He was bishop of Ypres of 1561 with 1583. Of 1577 with 1581, he was prisoner of the Calvinistes to Ghent; after its captivity, it never is turned over in its évêché.
Rythovius died in 1583 with Saint-Omer.
