Ryan Whitney (born the February 19th 1983 with Scituate in the Massachusetts) is a professional player of Hockey of the National league of hockey. It evolves/moves as a defender within the Penguins de Pittsburgh and carries number 19.

History
Whitney was selected during the fishing out of entry in the LNH in 2002 by the Penguins de Pittsburgh with the first turn (5th choice on the whole). It evolved/moved during three years in the team of the Université of Boston in the university championship (seasons 2001-02 to 2003-04) then it joined the row of the Penguins de Wilkes-Barre/Scranton during the strike of the season 2004-05.Under the direction of Michel Therrien, it marks 41 points (including 6 goals) in 80 matches of season and 9 points in 11 matches of eliminatory Séries.
The October 31st 2005, Dick Tärnström is wounded and Whitney has to play for Penguins. It carries out one good season as a defender enough strapping man of the team.
